Detecable Warning Mats

Under new regulations from the US Department of Justice, all curb-cut ramps and flush transitions must be equipped with a detectable warning surface to alert the visually impared. This detectable warning surface consists of an array of truncated domes in a specific pattern. Until now, contractors have been limited to replacing existing concrete ramps and stamping the domes into the wet concrete.

Introducing the Detectable Warning Mats by Advance Traffic Markings. ATM, the world leader in preformed highway marking tapes, has taken the same proven technology that has made their highway tape a world wide success and has applied it to their DW mats. ADA mats are produced from a proprietary blend of high quality rubber, TPR, pigments and colorants. They are cured polymeric articles with high mechanical properties. Available in yellow and black (custom colors available as a special order), these 2'x3' mats have a pre-applied pressure sensative adhesive for easy installion.

As a retro-fit measure, ATM DW mats can be applied to ramps that are already wide enough to meet ADA specifications. Simply prime the concrete with ATM Permanent Primer, peel, stick & roll - it's that simple! Many contractors have realized the challenge of creating conforming domes by pressing molds into wet concrete. ATM's DW Mats can be applied to newly poured concrete after the inital cure period (14-21 days depending on type of concrete, environmental conditions, etc.)

ATM DW mats meet current FDOT specifications (FDOT QPL 527-0011), Florida Building Code requirements as well as ADAAG guidelines.
